James Bond Test™ MK III Developed for Adhesion, Bond and Other Tensile Strength Testing.
James Instruments Inc., leading manufacturer of Non Destructive Test Equipment for construction materials announces the James Bond Test™ MK III. This equipment tests the tensile bond strength of overlays, adhesion strength of paint and coatings, tensile strength of underlayments and more!Chicago, IL, USA March 9th , 2011, James Instruments Inc. manufacturer of the world's most advanced Non Destructive Test Equipment for construction materials has developed the James Bond Test MK III for measuring the bond strength/tensile strength/adhesion strength of concrete, asphalt, tile, concrete repair, or other overlay material by the direct tension or pull off method. It uses disc attached to the material under test to,
The James Bond Tester™ MK III has been successfully used to verify the quality of existing materials,as well as determine the adhesion strength of shotcrete, tile, epoxies, paint and other repair materials, mortars or coatings. Adequate direct tensile strength between two layers is important if repairs to concrete structures or additional overlays on existing concrete are to be structurally sound. The James Bond Tester™ MK III involves bonding a circular steel disc to the surface by means of an epoxy resin adhesive. A controlled tensile force is then applied to the disc and failure will occur at the weakest point: either in the host material, or in the bond between overlay and host material.
"The bond strength of overlays has become an increasingly significant parameter in the construction community, especially as our infrastructure ages. This new test has been designed from the feedback of users of our previous Bond Test systems and incorporates many features that the professional testing community demanded." says Michael W. Hoag, President of James Instruments Inc."The bond strength of overlays has become an increasingly significant parameter in the construction community, especially as our infrastructure ages. This new test has been designed from the feedback of users of our previous Bond Test systems and incorporates many features that the professional testing community demanded." He continues "as the company has grown and aged we have been able to learn from our previous designs and produce cutting edge equipment that incorporates ideas, that although initially not obvious, greatly facilitate performing the test in the field and provide reliable results." The James Bond Tester™ MK III has been constructed to the highest standards and conforms to the following standards:
